I have been seen by Dr Srikanth today at the Rheumatology Dept at QMC. She was such a lovely person and very caring, calm and professional. Anyone who gets to see her will be very lucky. I’m so pleased to got to see her.

I’ve received a letter from this Doctor this morning and I am utterly disgusted and insulted by her remarks. I am taking medication for what is ” osteoarthritis” she claims is in it’s early stages which in my opinion is very wrong. As this condition has been going on for at least two years it originally started in my right hip which was confirmed by X ray as being early onset arthritis. She claims I have a “pincer like grip” in my hands, well how on earth can that be? I have to pull my fingers apart because they are so stiff and I can’t manage to carry shopping bags. I fell on my shoulder following an accident and I told her about it as well as my hip and she didn’t seem all that bothered, she said I “need to do excercises” and sent me away with some leaflets I’m 72 come off it my body’s had enough wear and tear without doing more excercises I can’t do them anyway because they are painful to do. So, now thanks to this letter I could lose my medication which I need for pain relief I’m going to seek a second opinion.
