Dr Fraser was my anaesthetist for a lumbar decompression op on 07/03/23. It was end of a long day for me and her I did not expect to be entertained into unconsciousness. This included a discussion about our reading interests and mention of her husband’s well known book, The Emerald Planet ( now purchased ). What happened between that conversation and two rounds of sandwiches on the ward I do not know but I had absolutely no after effects whatsoever. As a retired NHS Chief Executive this was a novel perspective for me and gave me reassurance that no matter what the Government has done to the NHS our doctors are still rather special.
