“Doctor” Gilhooly took me off THREE Physically Addictive meds which I was physically dependent on (benzos, z drugs and a neuroleptic called pregabalin.) I was on 30mg Diazepam, 7.5mg zopiclone and 800mg pregabalin but this “Psychiatrist” pulled me off all three meds in just TWO DAYS and had seemingly zero knowledge of the Ashton Manual or even the correct protocol in which Doctors are supposed to taper (wean) patients off drugs which fall within the benzodiazepine class, such as diazepam, lorazepam, nitrazepam and temazepam.
Due to his actions resulting in my mental health seriously deteriorating and I had to go 11 days and 11 nights without even a wink of sleep because of the actions and consequences relating to this person’s seemingly extremely naïve and dangerous behaviour, when it came to physically addictive drugs.
I gave him 1 star, just because I had to give him a rating from 1-5 stars, based on my experience with this “person” and how he dealt with the mental health problems I brought forward to him.
There is a very strong likelihood that this “Doctor” did not even read my medical notes before seeing me because the reason I was admitted into hospital in the first place was because I suffered 11 tonic-clonic seizures in a row (witnessed by 2 paramedics) – after it took 1.5 hours for them to arrive and during the 90 minute wait, I estimate I had 10-15 seizures in a row, which resulted in the life threatening condition called “Status Epilepticus”.
I would not recommend this “Doctor” to my worst enemy as what I went through was a living hell which in turn was a consequence of the (in my opinion) EXTREMELY naive, miss-guided and outright dangerous decisions / actions this “person” made
awful arrogant and rude
