I would like to that thank Dr Cruwys due to the manner in which she tested and looked after my wife and son in such difficult times (in 2008). It is a testament to the quality of care she delivered that I am sat here 17 years later writing review attempting to depict how the care that this doctor provides is truly the pinnacle of quality. She was an extremely useful and empathetic doctor who you could tell truly does care for her patients and does the best by them.
I went to this doctor with my mother when I was about 11.
I was extremely disappointed and upset after the appointment. At the time, I did not know that was unacceptable and not the way I should have been treated. I am 19 now and I realise the way I was treated was wrong. She told me that I was secretly eating in front of me and my mother. This was just not true at all. She made me feel ashamed about my body and my weight. I went in the appointment feeling hopeful and I just felt attacked and drained after. This left me with an eating disorder and I became extremely underweight. I felt tired, cold and you could see me bones. It left me with an unhealthy relationship with food. The appointment was not even about this. At the end of the day, there are more respectful ways to go about this. She was not professional about this at all. Now looking back I think because my mum couldn’t communicate as effectively as English is not her first language, she felt she could get away with this. No patient should feel like this and even thinking about this now makes me upset. I am really disappointed with this treatment.
